72nd FIFA CONGRESS
Client: FIFA
The annual FIFA Congress brings together all the heads of the Member Associations and many other stakeholders, as well as the world’s media. It is a high-stakes event, with the eyes of the world firmly fixed upon it. This is especially true in a World Cup year.
We were commissioned to create all the videos that played at the Congress, and these included:
Opening Film to set the tone of the event
Year in Review 2021 – looking back at the year’s activities
Human Rights
All congress related motion assets (bumpers, backgrounds etc)
72nd FIFA Congress Opening Film
Year In Review 2021
Broadcast suite - 5 Second Bumper
All of the films for the 72nd FIFA Congress also needed to be delivered in a super widescreen format to fill the giant screens in the venue. We produced 6K versions using multiple windows of video to create a truly immersive experience.
Super Widescreen version of the Opening Film
Human Rights
As you may know, since awarding the FIFA World Cup to Qatar, there have been justifiable concerns around Human Rights issues, particularly as they relate to migrant workers and the LGBTQI+ community. FIFA did not want to shy away from these issues, but rather to face up to the very real challenges that have been faced (and continue to be faced), but also to reflect where positive steps have been taken and achievements accomplished.
They asked us to produce a short film on the subject which required us to strike a very delicate balance. We worked with FIFA over a period of a few weeks, writing the narrative, directing shoots in multiple countries, and handling all elements of post-production, to deliver a film featuring key voices in this ongoing conversation.
